Wisteria Way
Sitting in the bush clad hills of the Waimamaku River Valley, Wisteria Way provides travelers a restful place to spend a night or 2 in our lovely cottages while they explore the wild west coast area of Hokianga. The cottages are available for booking all through the year.
Spring and summer, our on site coffee garden is a relaxing place to sit a while after travelling through the beautiful Waipoua Forest, see some of the creations of our talented local crafts people or lovely gifts to take home as a memento of your travels. The coffee garden and little shop is open to the public from mid-October through to winter, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, Christmas and New Year to mid January and most other public holidays. Have a break from your journey and enjoy the beautiful developing gardens, the song of the tui feeding in the flax bush and gaze around at the majestic hills surrounding the valley. Just minutes from the Waipoua Forest, home of Tane Mahuta heading south and the beautiful Hokianga Harbour heading north, Wisteria Way Cottages and Coffee Garden is the perfect place to stay while you explore the beauty of the Hokianga area. Self cater in our fully equipped kitchen in the common room or eat out at one of the local food eateries in nearby Waimamaku, Opononi and Omapere.
As a guest staying with us, you can prebook a cafe style breakfast from our little coffee shop if travelling light or look for something tasty from the coffee shop (available on coffee garden opening days) to start your day before taking to the road.
Visit majestic Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest, explore the beaches of Hokianga, hear the telling of the story of Kupe at Manea or just sit on your verandah with a book in hand soaking up the peace and tranquility of the surrounding bush, hills and gardens while the piwakawaka (fantails) dance around you.
